List of eResearch platform services
UTS offers a suite of different platforms to assist with managing your research data. These platforms meet standards for best practice Research Data Management (RDM) as required in the Research Policy and UTS Research Data Management Procedure. The platforms recommended here are hosted in Australia, mostly by UTS. Where they are hosted by other service providers, the service providers waive any rights over IP in the data stored. It is expected that researchers will use the supported University platforms as others may not comply with research data governance requirements.
Currently available as Stash workspaces
Microscopy data: OMERO handles all your microscopy images in a secure central repository, from the microscope to publication. You can view, organize, analyze, and share your data from anywhere you have internet access. Work with your images from a desktop app, from the web, or from 3rd party software.
Code: GitLab is a web-based code repository system with features to help with code management, version control, code review, and collaboration. Access can be limited to project members. GitLab helps coders to ensure that their research is reproducible by tracking changes.
NB. First-time GitLab user? Before requesting your GitLab workspace, go to GitLab and authenticate (log in). This only applies the first time you use GitLab.

eNotebooks: Web-based electronic notebooks (provided by LabArchives) are useful for managing research documentation, observations, and data. With granular user-managed access control and intellectual property controls, eNotebooks are ideal for overseeing research students and for research collaboration (including external partners).

Surveys and Data Collection (health and sensitive): Research Electronic Data Capture (REDCap) is a secure web-based database application located safely in our Data Centre. It is ideal for collecting and managing participant data and administering online surveys, with features supporting longitudinal data collection, complex team workflows and exports to a range of statistical analysis programs.
ACCESS: If you are a first-time user of REDCap, before requesting your REDCap workspace, go to REDCap and authenticate (log in).

eResearch Storage: The eResearch Storage (aka Isilon) is a central networked drive specifically for research data. The eResearch Storage is where research data should be archived at the end of a research project, as research data stored there will be managed to meet the minimum retention requirements for your research data as per your data management plan. To archive your data, Create a Data Record in Stash.
The eResearch Storage is also recommended for large data volumes and for highly confidential or sensitive data because of its security and access control. Access from off campus requires that you use the UTS VPN (more information here via ServiceConnect).

Survey Platforms (access instructions included below)
Surveys (low or negligible risk): Qualtrics is a simple to use web-based software primarily used as sasurvey tool to conduct survey research, evaluations and other data collection activities. It is the primary UTS Survey Platform. It provides a clean web interface for creating surveys, as well as data analysis and distribution management option.
